Parkinson, Lyn




Lyn Parkinson, 84 of Bethel Park went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2020.  She passed peacefully surrounded by family after being in Hospice Care at Magee Hospital.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Col. James Irwin Martin and Helen (Cousley) Martin, as well as many beloved grandparents, aunts, and uncles.  She leaves behind Russell Parkinson, Father of her children, and truest friend.  She will be profoundly missed by the loves of her life, Son ’s, Hugh, Nevins (Lori), and daughter, Briceland (Vince) Farrell.  She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Meghan, Vincent Jay (Ariel), Jessica (Alex), Judith (Basti), and Amanda.  Great-Grandmother of Aaron Jay, Farah, Graey, Nathanael, Hudson, and a great-granddaughter to arrive this Spring, as well as two step-granddaughters, Kara and Emily.  Though sometimes flawed in execution, Lyn’s devotion to her family knew no boundary.  She graduated High School in Fayetteville, NC and attended GWU in Washington, DC although her family moved multiple times, she ultimately Made her home in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. She was a longtime active member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a voracious reader, and an aspiring author.  She was also a foster to two cats who will miss her.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to a Charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements entrusted to BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC.
