Acklin, Gloria (Cappellanti)




Gloria Cappellanti Acklin, 88, of Highland Park, died May 16, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late James F. Acklin, Mother of Lawrence (Janice) Acklin, Gloria (Todd) Kreps and Deborah (Romi) Acklin; grandmother of James (Mary) Acklin, G-ma of Jonathan Kreps and Matthew Kreps; daughter of the late Joseph and Resina Cappellanti; sister of the late Lawrence Cappellanti, Dominica “Minnie” Zeni, Lillian Cappellanti, and Eva Robotti; sister-in-law of the Acklin siblings; also survived by dear nieces and nephews. A Masters graduate of WVU, Gloria was a lifelong educator at Seton Hill College, Duquesne University, and Winchester-Thurston School where she touched the lives and hearts of hundreds of young women. Gloria was passionate about her family, life, classical music and art, and her students. She is now reunited with Jim, the love of her life. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to her loving companions, Shannon, Melissa, Karima and Dale. Arrangements are private and entrusted to BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC.
