Mangan, Marilyn

Age 83, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. She was one of four children of the late Evelyn and Martin Sullivan. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death are her husband, Conn Mangan; sister, Joyce Drake; brother, Marty Sullivan; brother-in-law, Jim Drake; niece, Jan Drake; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Ayala and Pat Sokolsky. Leaving behind to miss her terribly are her youngest brother and best friend, Bill (Linda) Sullivan; her daughters, Sherry Papale (Steve) and Cindy Tudi (Mike); grandchildren, Michael (Ashley) Papale, Rachel Tudi and Paige Tudi; sister-in-law, Linda Sullivan (Fla); brothers-in- law, Bill (Karen) Griffith and Paul Ayala; as well as Ellen Gearhard, who was like a daughter to her; many nieces, nephews and friends all of whom she loved dearly. Sully was a wonderful mother and a friend in the truest sense. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren. They were the light of her life and made her day complete simply by stopping by or calling to say hello. During her lifetime, Sully worked at medical facilities here in Pittsburgh and in Florida as a secretary. She was an outstanding cook and an avid animal lover; she rescued many! She created wonderful memories for so many by hosting holidays and birthdays that were second to none and boy was she proud of her Irish heritage! The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Willows in Oakmont for their amazing care and attention to her during her stay there. You made a tough time easier; we couldn’t have done it without you. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cure SMA (her favorite charity) in her honor at 95 Busse Rd., Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 or simply look for an opportunity to be unexpectedly kind to someone and remember her as you do it. Friends and relatives will be received during a Memorial Visitation on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 4-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., 421 Allegheny Avenue, Oakmont, PA 15139. Masks and social distancing required, no more than 25 people in the funeral home at a time. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Interment will be limited to family members only at Calvary Cemetery on Saturday, September 5, 2020.
