John D. Truxal, 88 of Penn Hills passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Son of the late Elmer and Irene (McKim) Truxal.  Beloved husband of the late Mary Catherine( Hackwelder)  Truxal who passed away in 1982.  Husband for 35 years of Jane Truxal. Loving Father of Linda (Steve) Schall, John (Susanna) Truxal, Patricia (Rick) Ressler, Steve (Tami) Truxal, Karen Dolan, Susan (Mark) Crowe, Lori Hanno, Michele (Jim) Kellerman, David (Maryann) Hanno, and Colleen (Scott) Cooper.  Grandfather of 23 and Great-Grandfather of 11.  Brother of the late Jeannie Fowler.  John was a founding and former lifetime member of the Holiday Park Fire Department.  He served in the Navy during the Korean War and enjoyed spending time at his camp in Butler. John was never idle and his hobbies included gardening and wine making. Friends and relatives will be received on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont.  Masks and social distancing required, no more than 25 people in the funeral home at a time.  Blessing service Saturday, January 30, 2021, 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
