Little, R. Jerry

R. Jerry Little It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Jerry Little, age 71 of Oakmont on Friday, February 26, 2021. We all feel a tremendous sense of loss and sadness. Born on April 21st, 1949, Jerry was the son of the late Ralph and Stella Little of New Kensington. He attended Shadyside Academy, Bethany College and Ohio Northern Law School. He practiced law for 45 years until his retirement in 2020. Jerry was a trusted advisor and a fierce friend. He lived his life with integrity and kindness and will always be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 46 years, Christine (Henkel) Little. He was the devoted dad of Cayce (Marcel) Little Pastoor of Pittsburgh, Brad (Ashley) Little of Charlotte, NC, and Allison (Jordan) Little Sromek of New York, NY. He was the beloved “Bear” to his 6 grandchildren: Catelyn, Carter, Hudson, Ethan, Morgan and Dutch. Brother to Suzanne (John) Costa and uncle to John and Christopher Costa. He is also survived by many cousins and special friends. His dog Jack was his constant walking companion. The family wishes to thank and acknowledge the extraordinary care of the staff of St. Margaret’s Hospital. Jerry spent 25 days on the 3rd floor battling Covid complications. He donated his lungs and bone marrow to the UPMC Covid research program in hopes we can find an end to this terrifying disease. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Fight Covid-19, University of Pittsburgh, PO Box 640093, Pittsburgh, PA 15246 or online https://engage.pitt.edu/project/20425 or to benefit his love of reading through Oakmont Carnegie Library, 329 Pennsylvania Avenue, Oakmont, PA 15139. Jerry’s memorial service will be private due to the respect of our current culture. Arrangements have been entrusted to the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC, Oakmont.
