McGarry, Ruth A.

Ruth A. McGarry, of Cheswick passed away peacefully in her home to meet her Lord on the morning of Monday, April 19, 2021 at the age of 90.  Ruth was born on July 20, 1930 in Dorseyville to the late Carl William and Mary Madeline (Berrang) Miller.  Ruth worked at Marmon/Keystone for well over 30 years.  She loved and was passionate about her work.  She was adored by her co-workers.  She had many lasting friendships from work, but her friend Gaile Miller Hogue she loved dearly.  She was a member of Riverside Community Church, Oakmont and her faith was very dear to her.  Ruth enjoyed volunteering at Riverview Community Action Senior Center for many years serving meals.  She was a hard worker and doing things for others brought her such joy.  She was commonly referred to as "Miss Wonderful" by those who loved her.  Ruth was an avid steelers fan, loved country music, enjoyed cooking and going on cruises, and always had the perfect outfit for every occasion.  Above all, Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who loved her dearly.  She is survived by and resided with her son David C. (Heather) McGarry, and granddaughters Kirsten E. McGarry and Allison P. McGarry of Cheswick.  She is also survived by her beloved grandson Justin L. (Stephanie Chaffee) McGarry and great-granddaughter Evelyn R. McGarry of Kittanning. She is also survived by her children Joseph B. (Judy) McGarry, and Ruth A. (David) Zagorski, grandchildren Matthew Zagorski and Laura Zagorski, as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to Ruth's parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers David J. Miller and Frederick G. Miller, and Joseph B. McGarry, Sr. who she loved.  Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 2-6 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont. Masks and social distancing required, no more than 35 people in the funeral home at a time. A funeral service will be held on Thursday evening in the funeral home at 6 p.m. at the conclusion of the visitation with Rev. Mike Evans officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Riverside Community Church, 800 3rd Street, Oakmont, PA  15139
