Richard L. Metz, 68 of Cheswick passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. Born in Greensburg on October 1, 1952, he was a son of the late Charles Frank and Mary V. (Harmon) Metz. Loving Brother of Frank (Cindy) Metz of Verona, Ellen Sweet of White Oak, Gary (Ramona) Metz of Verona, the late Mary Susan (Gene) Fowler, and companion and friend of Terri Sekel. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Rich was a Vietnam Army veteran, and spent the majority of his working career as a Foreman in the mining industry, and as a welder in the automotive industry. His hobbies included home remodeling projects and restoring classic cars. Rich was a member of the Verona Eagles, enjoyed playing and listening to oldies music, and spending time with his family. He was a very caring individual, and will be deeply missed. Friends and relatives will be received on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont. A blessing service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021, 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Henderson Cemetery, Harmar Township. If desired, contributions may be made in his name to a charity of one's choice.
