Rogers, Raymond R., Sr.




Raymond R. Rogers, Sr., 86 of Oakmont passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. Born on March 23, 1935, he was a son of the late Isaac and Helen (Helwig) Rogers. Husband of the late Esther, Josephine, Marjorie, and is survived by his wife, Constance "Connie" (Liput) Rogers, and her children, Tammy (Gary) Beveridge of Lower Burrell and Randall (Allison) Ruckus of Natrona Heights. Loving Father of Gary (Karen) Rogers of Oakmont, Susan (Bob) Brinker of Kansas City, and Ray (Missy) Rogers, Jr. of Oakmont. Pappy Ray of Kate (Jay) Trovato, Collette (Greg) Romano, Kyle (Becky) Brinker, Scott Brinker, Raymond (Allie) Rogers, III, and Bridgette Rogers. Great-Grandfather of Lucy Romano. He is also survived by his wife, Marjorie's children, Maggie Kobal, Carie Mullins (Steve Mroch), Marian Davis-Mullins (Duane), Ann (Greg) Manley, and Kathie Mullins. Nico, his little buddy, will also miss him dearly. Ray was a member of Oakmont Methodist Church and retired from Bell Telephone Company. He was an active member of Oakmont Fire Department for 62 years, serving previously as both financial secretary and Lieutenant. He was also a member of Allegheny County Fireman's Association, where he served as the assistant financial secretary and a member of the Western PA Firemen's Association and the United Firefighters Breakfast Club. Currently employed by Riverview Community Action Center as a bus driver for the senior center, he was also a member of Verona F & AM 548 and a Shriner. Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont. Firemen will hold services at 7 p.m. Thursday evening in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2021, 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Kathleen Schoeneck officiating. Interment will follow in the Verona Cemetery, Oakmont.
