Pursh, Daniel James

Daniel James Pursh, 54, of Penn Hills, PA passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 due to complications with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Dan was born on 7/28/67, and is the son of Charles and Arlene (Kravic) Pursh, Sr. and is the brother of Chuck Pursh, Elizabeth Pursh, and the late Pam Pursh who passed away on 9/14/2004. Beloved uncle of Julianne, Ryan, and Kailee. Dan grew up in the Verona/Oakmont area and graduated from Penn Hills High School in 1985. He later moved to California and spent the past 30 years in the Los Angeles area pursuing numerous interests in the film and music industry. Dan graduated from the University of California with a major in communications. He was a student of life and took passion in everything he studied. He was never lost on words or an opinion of a topic. If you were looking for insights on a subject or wanted to debate a topic – Dan was your guy. Dan’s life was unexpectedly cut short by ALS. He was a humble man who was very gentle and kind. Dan never married or had children but he had a huge heart and was amazing with kids. Dan could be guarded at times but for those who didn’t judge him and opened their arms he returned it with incredible care, compassion, and love. He was truly one of a kind. Dan will be forever missed and we pray that he reunites with his sister Pam in the heavens above and watches over us all. Friends and relatives will be received at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Avenue in Oakmont from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m on Friday, August 20, 2021. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery and a reception for family & friends will follow.
