Ellen Jane (Hanno) Truxal, 85 of Penn Hills passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pittsburgh on December 11, 1935 to the late James and Louise (Tauber) Roche. Beloved wife of the late David R. Hanno who passed away in 1972. Beloved wife for 35 years of the late John D. Truxal who passed away earlier this year on January 26, 2021. Loving Mother of Karen Dolan, Susan (Mark) Crowe, Lori Hanno, Michele (Jim) Kellerman, David (Maryann) Hanno, and Colleen (Scott) Cooper. Loving Step-Mother of Linda (Steve) Schall, John (Susanna) Truxal, Patricia (Rick) Ressler, and Steve (Tami) Truxal. She is survived by 23 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Mary Lou Salsgiver and was also preceded in death by her brother, James Roche. Jane was a devout catholic and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plum for 60 years. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and worked at the pre-school for several years. Her undying faith is what carried her through the many adversities she faced in her life. She was a devoted mother who raised her six children alone after being widowed at age 36. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at their camp in Butler. Friends and relatives will be received on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, September 4, 2021, 10:30 a.m. Holy Family Parish (St. John the Baptist). Interment will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
