Creegan, Christine

Christine M. Creegan, 76 of Penn Hills passed away at her home on Monday, August 29, 2022. Daughter of the late William and Elizabeth “Betty” (Stinebiser) McIlvaine. Beloved Wife of Terrance "Terry" T. Creegan for over 53 years. Loving Mother of Carrie (Jason) Isasky and Casey Creegan (Daniel Buchholz). Adoring Grandmother of Ella, Ava, and Scotti Shay. Sister of the late William McIlvaine. Chris was a phenomenal teacher at the Gateway School District for 36 and a half years. Although she taught many subjects, she specialized in Reading and English. Her students loved her, and despite the fact that she had been retired since 2003, she still received Christmas cards from some of them. She enjoyed extensive traveling with her husband, making their way across five of the continents. They also shared a love of golf and were members at Alcoma Country Club for ten years where they played and socialized. She also took cruises and had other adventures with her amazing friends. She loved seeing the tulips in Holland, kissing the Blarney Stone in Ireland, and all of their other adventures across Europe. Chris was proudest of her two daughters and cherished the special bonds she had with each of them. She spoke to them every day whether it was over the phone or in person as they all lived in the same neighborhood. Her daughters so deeply admired the love their parents shared that they both chose to be married on June 21st, their parents' wedding anniversary. They called this unique tribute the “21 club.” Chris loved spending time with her grandchildren and never missed any of their activities. She shared her love of reading with her first granddaughter Ella, her wit and humor with her second granddaughter Ava, and was over the moon to welcome her third granddaughter Scotti Shay last year. During the summer, Chris could be found relaxing at Rosedale Pool, chatting with her friends. She was an incredible woman who shared her kindness and generosity with everyone she met. Family meant everything to her, and her legacy of love will live forever in them. Friends and relatives will be received during a Memorial visitation on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 2-6 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont. A Memorial service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
