William F (Bill) Thomas
Bill Thomas was born September 2, 1957 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He graduated from Cass Technical High School in Detroit Michigan, and attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor for two years. He died of a sudden illness on January 17, 2023, too soon at age 65.
Bill did ground-breaking systems and technical work on point-of-sale retail systems for K-Mart Corporation in Troy Michigan, and then for Montgomery Wards in Chicago Illinois. He finished his career at Whole Foods back in Pittsburgh.
His life outside of work was devoted to the kind of pursuits that make one a good and interesting citizen of the world. He was an avid reader, a serious devotee of jazz and classical music, not to mention rock and roll, and loved and was good at cooking. He enjoyed traveling and exploring.
