Savinda, Annabelle

Our Mother, Annabelle, 77 of Penn Hills passed away on Monday February 27, 2023. Annabelle was one of the strongest, kindest, and most loving women we’ve ever known and we were blessed to have her as the head of our family. Annabelle graduated from Oakmont High School in 1963. Annabelle was employed as a Customer Service Representative at JcPenney Corporation for over 20 years, retiring in 2006. In 1966, she married the love of her life John and together they went on to have four children. Annabelle was a wonderful and loving Mother and Grandmother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left in our hearts after her passing. Annabelle raised her 4 children as a single Mother after becoming a widow at 37 and then losing her Son Chris suddenly 3 years later. She was a woman of strength that battled through many tough times in her life. Yet, she continued to raise her children and be a kind and loving person who was always ready to help others. Some of the best times of her life were a trip to Nashville and Memphis with her children to see Graceland (she was a huge Elvis fan), the birth of her 3 Grandsons, trips to Ohio, Indiana and Texas to spend time with them (playing Monopoly, Pie Face, and many other games). She also enjoyed spending time going to car shows and dog events at various parks and pools around Pittsburgh with her children Ron and Joanne. She and her daughter Joanne enjoyed attending concerts in Pittsburgh as well. She had a love for animals, especially her German Shepherd Gemma, Skyler and cats Abby, Silver, Samantha, Snickers along with countless others throughout her life. Annabelle was predeceased by her Mother and Father, Earl and Belva Tate, beloved Husband John, and her dearly missed Son Christopher, Brothers Richard (Frannie) Tate, James Tate and Brother in Law Michael Basel. Annabelle is survived by her Daughters Joanne, Darlene (Bob) Kekelik, Son Ron, Grandchildren Blake, Ben, Cole, Sister Karen Basel and Sister In Law Mary Ann Tate. Friends and relatives will be received on Saturday March 11, 2023 from 1-4 pm at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA. Burial will be at Deer Creek Cemetery on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 10 a.m.
