Ann Mae Baila, formerly of Oakmont passed away peacefully at home on May 7, 2023. She was 97 years old. Ann was born in Russellton, PA to her parents, Thomas and Anna (Pokopac) Tady. She was the loving wife of Raymond Baila who passed away in 2007. In her early years, Ann and her sister Becky, known together as the Harmony Sisters, sang with a country band, performing at local venues and on live radio programs. She was also a champion yodeler. Throughout their marriage, Ann and Ray were very active in the Polka community. She especially enjoyed listening to her nephews, Dick and Jack Tady, play with their Polka bands. Ann was noted for her delicious homemade noodles and sauce as well as her other Italian and Croatian specialties. More recently Ann (GG) enjoyed spending time with her great grand-children who adored her. In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by her brothers Jacob Tady, John Tady, George Tady, Thomas Tady Jr., and sisters Marie Sovitski, Helen Radko, and Barbara (Becky) Saunders. She is survived by her daughter Renee Altman; granddaughters Kendra (Shawn) Smith, Shannon (Joshua) Schreckengost; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Natahlia, Zoe, Andrew, and Eliana. As per Ann's request, there will be no public viewing. A Catholic mass of Christan burial will be held on Saturday May 13 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church at 1319 Low Grade Road Harwick, PA 15049. Burial will follow at the Verona Cemetery-Oakmont. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research since Ann was a breast cancer survivor of 22 years.
