Barbara Adams, 77, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, in
her hometown. Born on May 27, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Barbara lived a life filled with compassion,
dedication, and love for her community.
Barbara attended the University of Pittsburgh and was a 1966 graduate of Springdale High
School in Springdale, Pennsylvania. She carried her education into a life of service, care and
was known for her commitment to helping others and often acted as a caregiver to friends in
need. Her selflessness and generosity left a lasting memory on those fortunate enough to know
her.
Barbara was deeply rooted in her community of Harmarville, Pennsylvania, where she served as
a loyal board member. Her faith was an important part of her life; she was an active and
devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish for many years. Her involvement in the church
reflected her kind spirit and dedication to serving others.
Barbara also cherished time spent with friends in her card club until it became difficult for her
to move about. That’s where the special place in her heart for animals comes into play. Her
beloved puppy Bella became a part of her life. Bella brought joy and companionship offering
unconditional love that filled her heart with happiness at a time when Barbara’s health failed
her.
An avid supporter of Pittsburgh’s sports teams—the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates—Barbara’s
enthusiasm for the city’s athletic traditions was infectious. She was a true Pittsburgher.
Barbara was also a creative soul who found joy in cooking and candy-making, sharing her
culinary talents with those around her. Her warmth extended beyond the kitchen; she was
always ready with a smile and a helping hand.
Barbara is survived by several aunts and uncles as well as many cousins who will cherish their
memories of her kindness and generosity. She was predeceased by her parents, Russell W.
Adams (d. 1971) and Elsie E. Adams (d. 1997), whose love has shaped the compassionate
woman she became.
Barbara will be remembered as a great friend to many—a blessed soul whose presence brought
light into the lives of all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her
passing and inspire acts of kindness in honor of the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
