Carmen DeRiso, age 101 of Verona, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on Tuesday July 23, 2024.
He was the son of the late Marie "Katie" and Frank DeRiso. Beloved husband of 63 years to the late Helen DeRiso. Loving father of Constance (John) Eddy, Frank (Samantha) DeRiso, and Barbara (Richard Lewis) DeRiso. Grandfather of Lisa (Brian) Grublis, Natalie (Sky Hernstrom) DeRiso, Tina (Paul Ward) DeRiso, Tony (Kristen) DeRiso, and Nicholas DeRiso. Great-grandfather of Alex and Veronica Grublis, Zoey and Penny Miller, Magnus and Elizabeth Hernstrom, Belle Ward, Nicole and Michael DeRiso.
Brother of the late Antoinette Barrett and Francis Pisera, and uncle Michael Auronia.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Carmen was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Verona, the Teamster Local 249, American Legion Verona Road, and the Logan Ferry Sportsmen's Club.
Carmen emanated positivity through his entire blessed life. He was a remarkable son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed his lunches with his friends. Whether it be a meeting at the Teamster Temple, or just a quiet restaurant, he always left his mark. In the quietness of his home, he enjoyed his elaborate train display.
Carmen will be remembered as a giver to all and generous to everyone whose life was touched by him.
Family and friends will be received from 1 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday July 30, 2024, at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday July 31, 2024, at Holy Family Parish - St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Verona. Entombment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Penn Hills.
