Carole Coleman, 83 of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday May 21, 2026. She shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Bill Coleman, and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
She was the proud mother of Sharon Lichota (Jamie), Kimberly Boris (John), Dan Coleman (Jina), and Brian Coleman (Bridget). Carole found her greatest joy in family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren — Madison (Eric), Jessica, Matthew, Maria, Brian Jr., Bella, Skyler, and Ridgely — and great-grandchildren, Claire and Ethan. She was also a devoted aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Coleman; her children and their spouses; her brother, Paul Alter; and her sister, Jeanne Hurley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Ruth Alter, and her sister, Ruthie Prakop.
Carole proudly embraced her role as a “domestic engineer” and devoted her life to raising her four children. A devout Catholic, she loved exploring her ancestry and family history, taking memorable vacations, browsing flea markets, and capturing special moments through countless photographs. Her photographs and memories will remain a lasting gift to those she loved.
Carole will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering devotion to family, and the many cherished memories she created with them. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
