On the morning of May 10, 2026, Carolyn Hills entered her final rest. Carolyn was born on January 3, 1944, to Tracey Wendell and Leone Rosella Shepherd née Sorensen. In college, Carolyn love folk dancing and met her husband at the Ribbons and Spurs folk dance club at the University of Utah. They married June 24, 1964, and made their home in Forest Hills for more than 50 years.
In life, Carolyn loved music and was an accomplished viola player. She played most recently with the Butler County Symphony Orchestra, the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, and the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra, and was an active member of the Tuesday Musical Club. Carolyn was a beloved teacher of dozens of violin and viola students, some of whom were her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in the Primary and Relief Society as a teacher and leader. She felt the Spirit when singing hymns and shared her musical talents by teaching and leading singing.
She is survived and deeply missed by her husband, sister, four children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
