Charles C. King, Jr., a life-long resident of Dravosburg, passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
He was born August 21, 1941, to the late Charles C. King, Sr. and the late Dorothy Hanlon King Harris.
Charles graduated from McKeesport High School in 1950.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964, serving in Vietnam, where he received a purple heart. He later served in Italy where he helped to train Italian mountain troops in the Alpines.
Charles worked for Duquesne light for 35 years as a crew leader.
He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Over the years, he had four labrador retrievers and was seen often walking them through Dravosburg.
Charles is survived by his sister, Patricia (William) Bunting, his nephew Peter (Heather) Maund, his nieces Theresa (the late Niel) Jones and Heather (David) McGarry and his 5 great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James H. King and his great nephew, Maclean Peter Maund.
After many years of placing flags on the graves of his fellow veterans in Richland Cemetery in Dravosburg, Charles will be buried beside them.

Funeral arrangements will be private and are entrusted to the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., Oakmont.
