Dr. Charles "Charlie" P. Ashe, 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 6, 2024.  Born on January 18, 1935, in Kittanning, Pa, Charlie lived a full and exciting life from beginning to the end and touched the lives of many people along the way.

Charlie had three great loves.  He loved his family and reveled in their triumphs.  He had a passion for sailing as he found adventures around world in different seas and oceans.  And of course, he had a love for being a Pediatrician in Alle-Kiski Valley.  He was always be greeted by a former patient at a restaurant or the grocery store with "Do you remember me Dr. Ashe?" Dad may not have remembered the face, but he basked in the warmth of the person's smile.

Charlie's final days were spent at Longwood at Oakmont and were some of his happiest.  He made a lot of friends and memories as he told me about them including going to the Senior Prom in 2023.

Charlie is survived by his four children, Karen Askren, Kristen Lifton, Phillip Ashe and Dr. Stephen Ashe and his 10 grandchildren, Jesse and Clay Lifton, Nicole and Collin Askren, Grant and Jenna Ashe and Calvin, Henry, Baylor and Gabrielle Ashe, as well as a one great-granddaughter, Cora Lifton.

A service will be held on May 8, 2024, at Longwood at Oakmont at 3:00pm.
