Robert M. Coates, 90 of Oakmont passed away on Thursday evening, October 6, 2022. Beloved Husband for 68 years of Joan R. Coates, who preceded him in death on May 22 of this year. Loving Father of Cyndi Caristo, Bob (Mary Beth) Coates and Nancy (Jim) Greenwood. Grandfather of Janiece (Mike) Moody, Drew (Jessica) Caristo, Alex (Lauren) Caristo, Charlotte Greenwood, and Elsie Greenwood. Great-Grandfather of 5. He is also survived by all of his siblings, Bill Coates, Kay Joyce, Judy McGuire, Alice Whiteman, Sue Miller, and John (Doris) Coates. Bob had a 40 year career working for Bell Atlantic Telephone as an electrical technician. He was a lifetime member of the BPOE Oakmont Elks, VFW, and proudly served our country in the United States Army. A longtime member of Oakmont Presbyterian Church and also the Mayflower Society, which was very important to him.
