Deborah Horvat, age 72 of Oakmont, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 17, 2024.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Olga Onufer Horvat and her sister Lisa Nania.  She is survived by her brother, David Horvat; sister Kathleen Horvat; nephews Nicholas Nania (Celesta), Thomas Nania (Angela), Matthew Nania; a grand-nephew Nicholas, and grand-niece Nadya Nania.

Deb had a big heart that was open and inviting to all unconditionally.  She enjoyed sharing her life with those she loved.  Our hearts are broken.

Deb graduated from both Edgecliff College of Xavier University and Carnegie Mellon University.  She retired as Director of the Dietary Department of Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville and then volunteered tirelessly for patients and staff at St. Margaret's Hospital.  She was artistic and found great joy in decorating for Christmas and creating unique and thoughtful gifts for anyone in need of being remembered.

Visiting hours will be held at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. at 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139 on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday April 22, 2024, at Holy Family Parish - St. Irenaeus Catholic Church at 387 Maryland Ave. in Oakmont.  Burial at The Verona Cemetery in Oakmont.
