Anthony DeVita, 91, a lifelong resident of Verona, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia (Shook) DeVita; loving father of Anthony J. (Candi Ricci) DeVita, Timothy J. (Beth) DeVita, Joseph J. (Lisa) DeVita and the late Debra Ann Stewart and Louis M. DeVita; father-in-law of Thelma DeVita; grandfather of 12; great-grandfather of 13; and brother of the late Joseph, John, Nick and Jim DeVita. Tony worked for the IBEW Local No. 5 for 36 years, and was employed as an electrician Westinghouse Corporation in Cheswick, where he served as a past union steward. He proudly served our country during Korea in the Army, stationed in Germany. His family was most important to him. Friends and relatives will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2022, in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Penn Hills.
