Dorothy Jane (Blatnick) Scarpino, 95, of Verona, PA left this kingdom for the eternal kingdom on Saturday the 21st of September 2024.
Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Emedio Scarpino (2001) and her son, Michael Scarpino (2004). Survived by Michael's son Ronald (Paula) of California.
Dorothy is survived by son Dominick (Lorraine) Scarpino of Evans City, PA. Granddaughter, Sara (Ian) of Stanardsville, VA, Great-grandsons, Dominick and Marciano McCowan, Grandson Timothy (Rebecca) Scarpino of Scottsdale, AZ, great-grandchildren Lina and Scarlett Scarpino, Hannah McCormick and Jack Diebolt. Great-great grandchildren, Lily and Sebastian McCormick, Becca Diebolt and Jack Diebolt, Jr.
Survived by her son Victor (Patrice) Scarpino of Seven Fields, PA, Grandson Christopher Scarpino of Plum Borough, PA, great-grandsons, Anthony and Michael Scarpino, granddaughter Angela (Jason) Vento of Delmont, PA and great-grandson, Luca Vento.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Sara Blatnick, and siblings, Michael (Beverly) Blatnick, Norma (Harry) Porter, and Virginia Schiffour. She is survived by her brother David (Barbara) Blatnick of FL.
Dorothy enjoyed singing, sewing, crocheting, knitting, baking, and cooking for family and friends. She baked and cooked dinners for her church, St. Thomas Episcopal in Oakmont.
She also loved to sing. As a young girl, she sang with the Mendelssohn (Savoiers) choir. She sang a variety of genres including glee club, musicals, opera, and church choir. Her sewing expertise ranged from baptismal gowns to winter coats to many of her own cloths to quilts to wedding gowns.
Visitation will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Oakmont at 378 Delaware Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139 on Monday September 30, 2024, from 9 - 11 a.m. Funeral mass liturgy will commence at 11 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Penn Hills.
