Edward John Michaels, Sr.

Edward John Michaels, Sr., 100 of Cheswick, passed away peacefully at home on Friday September 11, 2026. He was the son of the late Sophie and Hipolit Michalczuk. Beloved husband of 65 years to Carol (Brewerman) Michaels. Loving father of Edward (Michele) Jr., Teri (Mike Foglia) Michaels, and Michelle Michaels. Grandpap of Alexa (fiance Anthony Verzoni) and Megan (fiance Edward Nicotra) Michaels and Michael Foglia. Brother of the late Henry and Walter Michalczuk, Irene Dyszkiewicz, and Mary Nelson.

Ed was a decorated World War II Army Veteran, serving in war time in the Battle of Okinawa receiving the Purple Heart, Medal of Good Conduct, and the Victory Ribbon.

Later in life, he enjoyed the simple things, spending time with his wife and family, sitting on the front porch visiting with neighbors, and handing out treats to all the neighborhood pets.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday September 15, 2026 from 2-7 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont PA 15139.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 16th, 11 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial and military honors at Lakewood Memorial Gardens.
