Dr. Edward Sweeney, age 76 of Shaler passed away on his birthday, April 11, 2024.  Son of the late Betty and Edward Sweeney.  Beloved husband of Peggy (Flynn) Sweeney of 39 years.  Loving father of Meghan (significant other Seth Bullion) Sweeney.  Special brother-in-law to Edward (Suzanne) Flynn, Colleen (Larry) Light, Robert Flynn, Timothy (Linda) Flynn, Lillian (Bruce) Shoupe, Thomas (Kris) Flynn, John (Cindy) Flynn, and the late Bernard Flynn and the late Michael (late Frannie) Flynn. Ed is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Ed was an avid lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan having season tickets for over 25 years.  He loved his dog Hogan and his German Shepherd's over the years.  He was a Pharmacist/Physician at St. Francis Hospital in Lawrenceville for many years until its closing.

Friends and relatives will be received on Sunday April 14, 2024, from 2 - 6 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday April 15, 2024, at Holy Family Parish - St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Verona. Entombment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
