Eileen Ryder, age 76 of Penn Hills, passed away on Saturday May 13, 2023 peacefully surrounded by family after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy (Ringheisen) Wakefield and the late Charles Wakefield. Loving mother of Timothy (Michelle) Ryder and the late Colleen Ryder. Sister of Tess Wakefield, Brigid (Terry) Richards, and the late Paul (surviving spouse Sally) Wakefield. Loving grandmother of Carson, Colin, Stephanie, Sarah, and Sean Jr. Eileen was a lifelong Catholic; never missing Mass, as a member of St. Irenaeus in Oakmont and St. Bart's in Penn Hills. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates Fan and an amusement park enthusiast. Friends and relatives will be received at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139 on Tuesday May 16 from 4 - 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Family Parish - St. Irenaeus Church on Wednesday May 17 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh. If desired, memorials may be made in her name to The Alzheimer's Foundation.
