Elaine M. Diez, age 84, of Verona, on Thursday, December 21, 2023.  Beloved wife of 64 years to the late William Diez; mother of David (Andrea), Jeffrey (deceased), William (Kimberly), and Timothy; grandmother of Michelle, Melissa, Joshua, Jacqueline, Nathan, Jacob, and Elizabeth; great grandmother of Brynne, Camryn, Keira and Kaden; sister of Linda Biel (Stanley), and the late Carol Riley (Francis), Sandra Smith and Ronald Guttendorf.  Elaine is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

As a mother of four boys, Elaine kept active her entire life, which often included preparing meals and baking.  Her specialty was homemade desserts and pies.  She thoroughly enjoyed being a mom, grandmother and great grandmother.  Elaine was always in the audience cheering on her sons' and grandchildren's sporting events and recitals. She loved children so much that she decided to work parttime at a local daycare.  Elaine was a very spiritual and social person.  She was an active member of the community, joining a variety of groups such as Christian Mothers, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and working at the Polls which provided an opportunity to see all of her friends and neighbors on election day.  Elaine also enjoyed camping, traveling and dancing.  She was an avid fan of all the Pittsburgh sports teams and anything chocolate.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday January 8, 2024, in Holy Family Parish - St. Joseph's Church in Verona.

Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., Oakmont.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to support Alzheimer's research.
