Eric Vaughn Schott, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on Friday May 22, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 4, 1951, Eric was raised in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, a community he cherished deeply throughout his life. He often shared fond memories of growing up in Oakmont and spending summers at the Willows Pool, memories that remained close to his heart.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Mercedes (Berner) Schott and Ralph G. Schott; his sister, Gretchen; and his beloved wife, Christine (Ayoob) Schott, who passed away in June 2024.
He is survived by his loving sons, Christopher Schott of Cranberry Township and Michael Schott of Philadelphia, both of whom he was immensely proud. He is also survived by his sister, Marcy, and his brother, Ralph, along with other extended family members and dear friends.
Eric began his career years at Westinghouse before finding his true calling in optical sales, where he spent 41 successful years building lasting relationships, driving the tristate area and serving others with sincerity and kindness. He genuinely loved people and lived with a generous spirit. Whether it was buying someone a shirt they admired or surprising them with their favorite cake, Eric found joy in making others smile. His heart naturally led him toward helping and caring for those around him.
Above all else, Eric treasured his family. They were the center of his life and the source of his greatest pride and happiness. In recent years, he began attending North Way Christian Community in Wexford, where he grew in his faith and came to know the love of Jesus Christ.
Eric will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, humor, and unwavering love for others. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will continue to live on in all who knew him. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
