Florence A. Levkus

July 9, 1932-April 12, 2024

"Flo" was a devoted wife of Richard John Levkus, (June 26, 1931-December 5, 1984), Mother of Judith Biery and Mary Jo Weaver, Grandmother of Leah Biery, Benjamin Biery, Amanda Malenowski and Christine Lottmann, Great Grandmother of Owen Lottmann and Charlotte Malenowski and Sister of William Parks.

Flo was born on July 9, 1932, in Homestead, Pa. She was a graduate of Homestead High School, class of 1950. Flo worked at U.S. Steel in Homestead, Pa. From 1951-1955 and married the love of her life, Richard John Levkus on October 20, 1956.

Flo was a business owner. She owned the "Plush Pup Poodle Parlor" in Shadyside from 1965 until she sold the business in 1967.

Flo became a realtor and worked tirelessly with Hanley Real Estate and Sachs Real Estate selling investment and commercial Real Estate. She then received her Real Estate Brokers license and started her own corporation, Investors Real Estate, Inc., where she sold and managed personal and commercial Real Estate.

In 1994 Flo decided to put her Real Estate licenses in escrow and started attended classes in nursing at CCAC, Penn State and St. Margaret Memorial Hospital.  She then received her BSN from Penn State University in December 2000. When she retired from nursing, she cared for individuals in their homes part-time.

Flo enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. at 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139 on Tuesday morning, April 16, 2024, from 9-10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Parish - St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, 387 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139. A Celebration of Life will be held after mass.  Burial at Calvary Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
