Georgeanne Dye Stitt (Jan)
Jan passed away on October 18th after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Pittsburgh to George “Bobby” and Rebecca “Bettie” O'Hagan Dye. She married the love of her life James “Jim” Stitt who proceeds her in death. Together they shared over 74 years of traveling the world together to attend the U.S.S. Iowa reunions and taking care of children and grandchildren.
Jan worked for years at H&R Block, but her true passion was her family. She got immense pleasure in cooking and caring for her children and grandchildren. She followed all their activities and spent many hours on fields, courts, and stages. She welcomed any of their friends into her home and always had a meal on the table.
She enjoyed learning and playing the organ and particularly enjoyed playing with her grandchildren sitting beside her. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Jan had the most infectious laugh that will be remembered and missed by everyone.
She is survived by her 4 children Keith (Teresa) Stitt, Kerri (Jim) Watson, Kraig (Keely) Stitt and Kammi (Carl) Barbarino. Her grandchildren Stephanie (Lucas) Heakins, Zachary (Erin) Stitt, Brianna Barbarino, Samantha (Tim) Dietz, Sarah (Steven) Stasik, and Jonathan (Sophia) Barbarino. Her great-grandchildren Sienna, Arya, Lucas Heakins and Alexander Dietz. Jan is also survived by her sister-in-law Sarah Dye as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Gary (Tippy) Dye, her sisters-in-law, Elsie Valerio, Eleanora Brickner, Anna Zechender, and brother-in-law Daniel Stitt
