John C. Green, 96 of Oakmont (formerly of Lower Burrell) passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Born in New Kensington on October 14, 1925 he was the son of the late Thomas and Emma (Bourne) Green. Beloved Husband of the late Marilyn (Stauffer) Green. Dear Brother of Sophie (the late Russell) Green-Truby. John is also survived by relatives in Canada. He was a member of Christ Our Hope Anglican Church. A former member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in New Kensington, which his Father built, and where he served as a Junior Warden of the Vestry. John worked as a carpenter for Local Union 333; proudly served our country in the Army Air Force during World War II, earning the American Theatre Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, 2 bronze stars, good conduct medal, and the victory medal. He was a member of the VFW in Lower Burrell. Friends and relatives will be received on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until time of 10:30 a.m. funeral service with the Rev. John P. Bailey officiating at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont. Please wear a mask inside the funeral home. Private Interment will be in North Side Cemetery, Butler.
