Helen "Heidi" E. Monroe, age 74 of Verona, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 21, 2026 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Helen and John Price. Beloved wife of the late Robert F. Monroe, Sr. Loving mother of Heidi (Julian) DiGennaro, Bob Monroe, Jr., John (Susan) Monroe, and Elizabeth (Vincent) Graham. Loving grandmother of Sarah (fiance Vincent), Alex, Xavier, Brayden, Tyler, Mason, Jordan, Reagan, Jameson, Mallory, and Quinn. Sister of Cathy, Mary, Loretta, and Sam. Preceded by death by siblings Rita, Patty, Jack, and Albert. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her beloved cats.
Heidi loved spending her summers at Rosedale Pool and spending time at Dohler's Cottages on Lake Erie. She was always spotted at her kids' sporting events. She enjoyed watching the Pirates games with her best friend Diane. Heidi was known to enjoy a whiskey sour, knitting blankets, or creating beautiful quilts for friends and family. Her life revolved around her kids and family.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday March 25, 2026 from 3-7 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday March 26, 2026 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish - St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Verona. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Sharps Hill Rd., next to her husband.
