James "Inky" H. Monroe, Sr., age 80 of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 6, 2025, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.  He was the son of the late Emily and George Monroe.  Beloved husband of Sarah M. (Senatore) Monroe.  Loving father Michelle Monroe, Jim (Tina) Monroe, Jr., Theresa Monroe, and Yvonne Monroe. Pap-Pap of Daviea, Chris, Tia, Hasan, Rasheed, Aiesha, Kimora, Anthony, and Ayanna.  Brother of George and Douglas (Mercedes) Monroe.  Great-Grand Pap of five and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Inky loved football, he loved his cars, loved dressing well, and he loved his gold.  Inky liked it "his way".

Friends and family will be received on Thursday December 11, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont PA 15139.  A funeral service will be held the following day on Friday December 12 in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. with Deacon Dan Frescura.
