Janet Ward-Strang went home to Heaven peacefully on March 20, 2026, with her loving family by her side, just weeks before her 83rd birthday.

Janet will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose life reflected love, laughter, grace and kindness. She carried a gentle spirit and a caring heart, and she blessed those around her with compassion, hospitality and the gift of her presence.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Ward. In 1997, she was blessed to find love again and married George T. Strang, with whom she shared many cherished years, companionship, and life together.

Her legacy lives on through her children, Jill Ward, James Ward, and Jon Ward, and through the extended family she embraced with love, including George’s children, Karlin (Dave) Trimmer, Jil Strang, and George M. Strang.

Janet was a proud and loving grandmother to Julia (Ryan) Trainor, James (Molly) Winnier, Jonah Winnier, Julian Ward, Alissa Ward, Kathryn Strang, and Elizabeth Strang. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Delaney and Cameron Trainor, who brought added spark and joy to her life.

Janet’s presence will be deeply missed by her family and many friends who knew that a ringing phone late at night meant a long, soulful conversation was about to begin. She was always there for anyone in times of need, eager to help, ready to listen. She was a pillar of strength who proved that you can be both tough as nails and as warm as a fresh cup of tea. Though her family grieves her passing, they rejoice in her healing, in the gift of her life, and in the assurance that she is more alive than ever. They take comfort in the love she gave, the memories she leaves behind, and the legacy of love that will remain in the hearts of all who know her.

Family and friends are welcome for a visitation held on Wednesday, March 25th from 9:00am-11:00 am followed by a Memorial Service at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.

Interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
