Jean Wynn, née Hendry, 92, passed away peacefully on November 5th, 2026.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis H. Wynn, Sr and brother William Hendry. She is survived by her son, Hollis H. Wynn, Jr. (Vicky) and her daughter, Nancy Wynn, brother Malcolm Hendry and sister Mary Panze, as well as seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren.
Jean was born on November 19th, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA. Always kind, Jean was a friend to everybody throughout her life, holding a deep appreciation for the people around her, the arts, and animals.
She graduated from Westinghouse High School in 1950, where she played as a first chair violin in their nationally renowned Westinghouse High School Junior Orchestra. Her love of music lives on in her descendents.
As a young adult, she began working for Bell of PA, during which time she met her late husband, Hollis H. Wynn, Sr. Jean and Hollis wed shortly thereafter, traveling across both the United States and Europe as Hollis served in the U.S. Army. Jean was fond of recounting stories of their time overseas together, having cherished the time she spent there with her husband and her children.
In the early 2000s, Jean ran the kitchen for the Verona Presbyterian Church. As an empty nester, she took great pride in cooking and providing for the children that came to the church, getting to spread the warmth she held as a mother and grandmother to those who needed it most.
Throughout her entire life, Jean had a love for animals. From watching the wildlife play in the forests of her early years to the adoption of senior pets in her later ones, she held endless room in her heart for animals of all shapes and sizes. She was a regular donor to the Humane Animal Rescue League, hoping that she could help those animals to find their forever homes and live healthily and happily, just as hers did.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to the Humane Animal Rescue League in her honor.
