Joan was a former member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Arnold PA where she served as treasurer for many years. Joan worked in retail for many years at Singer sewing machine and the Oak Tree in downtown New Kensington. She then went for training with Pittsburgh National Bank where she had a 33-year career in Verona, Oakmont and Cheswick where she was a manager at Oakmont and became a vice president while in Cheswick; Joan also became not only the first female in the Oakmont/Verona Rotary but also served as the first female president. Joan also was a member of the Oakmont Chamber of commerce. First and foremost, Joan loved the Lord, she loved her family fiercely and passionately. Spending time at family gatherings was very important to Joan as well as supporting her grandchildren in their activities! Joan was always there to help anyone with anything. She was always dressed to perfection and almost never would be caught without her lipstick! Joan was very proud of her husband Coach Pappy and the Springdale Dynamos football team, always in the stands with the Springdale Dynamob and hosting weekly dinners for the players and becoming a second mom to most of them.
