Joan K. (Fricke) Lipovich, age 91 of Warrendale and formerly of Penn Hills passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday June 6, 2024.

She was the daughter of the late Kathryn and Reinhold Fricke.  Beloved wife of the late Joseph G. Lipovich.  Loving mother of Susan (Marty) Yonnone, Gene (Michele) Lipovich, Julie (Richard) Koeneke, Richard (Lynn) Lipovich, Mary (Thomas) Guinee, Joseph (Beth) Lipovich, and Kathy Frye.  Grandma of Michael Yonnone, Brian (Mana) Lipovich, Kelly (Brendan Hayes) Lipovich, Kaitlyn (Michael Lambert) Koeneke, Kara Koeneke Joseph Koeneke, Michael Koeneke, Patrick Koeneke, Nicholas Koeneke, Liam Koeneke, Jack Lipovich, Emma Guinee, Clare Guinee, Lindsay (James) Mott, Joseph Lipovich, Lexi Lipovich, Justin Lipovich, Spencer Frye, and Avery Frye.  Great-Grandma of Margo Mott, Ren Lipovich, and Millie Lambert.  Sister of the late Lois (late Stanley) Witchoskey.  Aunt of Sally Smith and Michael Witchoskey.

Before starting her family, Joan was a registered nurse after attending Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing. Joan was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Verona and a very devoted Catholic, which was the hallmark of her life in addition to her husband, seven children, nineteen grandchildren, three great- grandchildren and numerous sons- and daughters-in-law.  She was a long-time snowbird, spending winters in Naples, FL and she also enjoyed summers in Deep Creek, MD with her family swimming, boating, preparing great meals and watching the wonderful sunsets on the water.   She loved going out to eat, especially to the Cheesecake Factory, finely dressed in her favorite attire. She will be greatly missed as she was the center of our world.

Friends and relatives will be received on Monday, June 10, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Holy Family Parish - St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Verona. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Verona.
