Joyce Ann (Talotta) Fazio, 69, of Apollo, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at home surrounded by her husband and two daughters. Joyce was born on February 1, 1956, in Penn Hills to the late John and Phyllis Talotta.
She graduated from Penn Hills High School and went on to pursue Nursing at CCAC. Joyce worked for 36 years at UPMC St. Margaret as a registered nurse, where she shared her compassion in caring for others wholeheartedly. Joyce was an avid TV connoisseur, passionate about shopping, and had a devotion to loving her grandchildren. She was always overly generous and thoughtful but had a sassy side and would never hold back her words. Anyone that knew her would recognize her vibrant laugh from across a room.
She is survived by her dedicated husband of 43 years, Robert Fazio; her loving daughters, Amber (Jerry) Kenna and Lauren (Evan) Phillips; and her 4 precious grandchildren, Vinny, Ainsley, Elly and Lila. Sister of Jim (Diana) Talotta.
Joyce's cooking was spot on, but unlike her mother's true talent, her baking left much to be desired. She thoroughly enjoyed her shopping trips with her girls. In her retirement, she found the perfect balance of lounging on the couch while indulging in reality TV, gossiping with her favorite gal pal about the latest (and juiciest) happenings and spoiling her grandkids to no end. She was known to her grandkids as Grammy, and she wore that title remarkably well. She always had a love for the sun, sand and water. The beach was truly her happy place and also where she enjoyed countless memories, laughs, and drinks. She made it her mission during her life to bring her family and friends along any chance she could. She lived for family gatherings—never missing an opportunity to celebrate her loved ones or make an appearance at any event, big or small. Whether it was birthdays, holidays, or just a monthly girl's dinner, Joyce's presence was always the highlight. Her warmth and compassion touched countless lives, and her love for her family was evident in everything she did. In her final days, Joyce found peace, knowing her fight had been fierce, but she was never alone in it. She faced each day with unwavering strength, grace, and resilience. Her family will cherish the love and memories she leaves behind, and she will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
