Julia Niemiec, aged 98. of Oakmont, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. She was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1925, the youngest of the four daughters of Sophie (Kabaj) and Antoni Sowizdrzal. Her beloved older sisters, Marie (Walter) Micholuk, Jean (Stanley) Oczkowski, and Lottie (William) Frederick preceded her in death. Julia was the loving wife of the late Thaddeus Niemiec for 64 years and mother of Michael (Janeann) Niemiec. She and Ted were married in Chicago in 1946 and she lived there until his death in 2010. Her many nieces and nephews always brought joy to her life.
Her family deeply appreciates the excellent care she received while a resident of Presbyterian Senior Care in Oakmont. She lived there for the past 8 years and benefitted greatly from the loving care and attention of the nurses, healthcare workers, social workers, and chaplains. During the last years, Julia was also in the care of the wonderful staff of Bridges Hospice.
Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois. Private arrangements are entrusted to BURKET- TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., Oakmont.
