Karen Lee Klawitter

Karen Lee Klawitter, 71 of Ramona, California, passed away unexpectedly, while in Pittsburgh visiting for a family reunion on Tuesday August 25, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Olive McHenry. Beloved wife of 35 years to Hardi Klawitter. Loving sister of Kim (Carey) Osieczanek and Cynthia McHenry. Also survived by nephews Isaac and Troy (Emma) Osieczanek and many cousins.

She was born in Wilkinsburg, Pa and her family moved away in 1957 to San Diego. She had a beautiful life, marrying Hardi in 1991. Karen was a lover of all animals. She owned horses, cows, chickens, dogs, and cats. She was a certified Vet Tech. Karen later worked as a CFO for the Southern California Equine Foundation, retiring from there and enjoying traveling with Hardi; going back to visit Hardi's family in Germany, visiting family in Oregon, Zion and other National Parks, and also traveling throughout the United States in a motorhome. She stayed on in retirement in various forms as a consultant to multiple companies.

Karen enjoyed her travels to Peru and Egypt. She had over to past 10 years, also enjoyed coming to the family reunions in Pennsylvania with her Mom and sister, Kim.
