Alexander John Karnavas, beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away April 28, 2023 at his home in Tarpon Springs, FL. Alex will be remembered for his passionate faith, love of nature, and strength of character. Originally from Pittsburgh, he was a valuable mentor in college and then medical school in Belgium, and enjoyed extreme sports: mountain climbing, diving, aviation, and cycling. Alex was a life-long learner and avid reader, particularly in his Greek culture and all things science and medicine.

Alex is survived by his mother Joanna; sisters Diane and Jasmine; and niece and nephews Audrey Whitman and John and Nicholas Bodkin. He was predeceased by his father John and brother Leon.

Private services for family will be held at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Oakland on Wednesday with interment at Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Arrangements entrusted to the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., Oakmont.
