Bernadette C. Leppold of Verona passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 7, 2023, at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Mary and Martin Barrett. Beloved wife of the late Coleman L. Leppold. Loving mother of Maureen (Mike Janesko) Kowalski, Stephen (Kay) Leppold, Edward Leppold, Judith (Herbert Ho) Leppold, and Lynne (Adam) Mercer. Cherished grandmother of Molly (Matt Ceraso) Kowalski, Claire Leppold, Alexander Ho, Marc Leppold, Ira Mercer, and Mara Mercer. Sister of Eileen (late James) McGrath, Martin (Patricia) Barrett Jr., and the late Jack Barrett, late Thomas Barrett, late Patricia (late John) McKaveney. Bernie lived her full life in the Pittsburgh area, and attended St. Paul Cathedral High School in Oakland. She worked as a secretary at Koppers before raising her family in Verona. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Parish where she sang in the church choir for decades. Her career resumed as an Administrative Assistant for several professors at Carnegie Mellon University. Bernie was an expert baker, a talented seamstress, and an avid cross-stitcher. She was a voracious reader of mystery novels, and she enjoyed traveling and taking photos. As a devoted mother and grandmother, Bernie will always be remembered for her kindness and selfless acts of love. Friends and relatives will be received at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139 on Monday April 10 from 4-7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Holy Family Parish St. Joseph's Church (EVERYONE MEET AT CHURCH).
