Lynne Carothers, age 79 of Plum Borough passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 8, 2026, at UPMC St. Margaret's. She was the daughter of the late Vivien and George Carothers. Sister of George (late Beverly), Scott (Marty), and Tracy (Tom) Messenger. Special Aunt but more like a second mom to Kevin, Kerri, Brent (Jen), Eric (Leigh), Erin (John), Kurt, Crista, and Derek (Lydia). Great aunt of Alex, Connor, Emma, and Levi.

Lynne attended Western Maryland College and majored in mathematics. She was employed at Papercraft in Blawnox and most recent Vance Wright Adams in Pittsburgh.

She loved all sports, especially following the Penguins and was a Steelers season ticket holder for 56 years.

Lynne gave a lot of her herself and time to multiple organizations including the Plum Community Center, Meals on Wheels, and Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh. She was a longtime member at the Oakmont Presbyterian Church.

She loved her cats, dogs, all pets, and her family dearly. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, spending time at the beach, especially Panama City Beach.

In lieu of a funeral service, the family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date. Donations can made to the Humane Animal Rescue.
