Margaret (Peg) Smeaton, age 86 of Penn Hills passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 23, 2024.
Daughter of the late Elizabeth and Paul Reichenbach. Beloved wife of the late John Smeaton. Loving Mom of Elaine (John) Lasch, John "Jack" Smeaton and Pamela Smeaton. Special Grandma of John "Jake" (Kristi) Lasch, Erika (Taylor) Bowers, Rachel (Regis) Palmer and Tori Smeaton. Great-Grandmother of Ethan, Emmy and Raelynn. Sister of Butch (Frannie) Reichenbach. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Peg was a school guard for 25+ years for the Penn Hills Police. She loved her trips to Harrah's properties to gamble especially in Atlantic City. She enjoyed the beach and spending time with her family.
The family is extremely grateful for her friends and the staff at the Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Monroeville. Peg will deeply miss all her pets that she loved dearly.
Friends and family will be received from 2 - 7 p.m. on Thursday April 25, 2024, at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. at 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139. A funeral service will be held on Friday April 26th, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment to follow at Homewood Cemetery in Pittsburgh next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Peg's name.
