MARGUERITE DOZZI IOLE

Peacefully, with her family by her side, Marguerite passed away at the age of 96 on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Born in Pittsburgh, she was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Jennie (DiLucchio) Dozzi, her husband of 63 years, Anthony Iole and her brothers Peter (Terry) Dozzi and Eugene Dozzi, Jr.

Marguerite devoted her life to raising her four children and had a significant role in the lives of her six grandchildren.  She was the loving mother of Janeice (Joe, deceased) Calfe, Judi (Jim) Steiner, Jay (Marcia) Iole, and Joni (Ron) Howard.  She was the beloved Nonna of Meredith Calfe, Marissa (Chad) Snyder, Jackie (Ben) Primack, Jessica (Andrew) Gentilcore, Cecilia (Trey, fiancé) Iole, Isaac Howard, and proud Bisnonna to Audrey and Maxwell.  Marguerite loved cooking and entertaining for her family and friends and was happiest when seeing everyone gathered around her dinner table.

A longtime resident of Oakmont, Marguerite was an active member of her community. She served as President of the Oakmont Senior Women's Club, was an active member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (St. Jude Lodge) and the Ladies Auxiliary of Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity (LAPDA).  After raising her family, Marguerite began a 24-year career in the travel industry.  She managed two travel agencies and was able to travel the world experiencing new adventures while keeping close ties with her family in Europe and throughout the United States.

Marguerite will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and devotion to her family.  She will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all those she loved and who loved her.

A visitation will be held on Thursday October 2, 2025, at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Avenue in Oakmont, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM, with a tribute to Marguerite beginning at 10:00 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish- St. Irenaeus Church, Oakmont.  The family is grateful for the compassionate care Marguerite received at the Hanna Healthcare Center, Longwood at Oakmont.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to:  Hanna Healthcare c/o Longwood at Oakmont, 500 Rt. 909 Verona, PA 15147, or The Pittsburgh Opera, 2425 Liberty Ave. Pgh., PA 15222 http://www.pittsburghopera.org - Donate Here / "Give Now".
