Mary Anne Dimasi (nee Maloney), 93, passed away on May 18, 2026, in Georgetown, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Louis Dimasi, and is survived by her children Joseph Dimasi of Oakmont, Pennsylvania and Susan Schoenbaechler of Georgetown, Texas and their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her brother John Maloney, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Anne was born in DuBois, Pennsylvania, the oldest daughter in a family of seven children. She attended St. Catherine's church and school. She moved to Pittsburgh, fell in love, and settled in Oakmont, Pennsylvania. She was the office manager for Penn Technical Institute in Pittsburgh, a post high school vocational educational institution where her husband was the director/owner for over 40 years.
Mary Anne loved gardening, cooking (especially Sunday dinners), and watching old movies and detective shows. Sunday dinners included a little something for everyone -- at least one type of pasta with fresh made sauce, a main -- hopefully little chickens, a green salad, fried zucchini if you were lucky, and a dessert -- which changed with her mood or the season.
She remembered all the old movies -- and had favorite actors; she did not love musicals, but loved thinking about the fact that her parents did and would take any willing participant to the small theater to watch foreign films. She loved music and would have it playing in the house all day and was frequently singing along.
She moved to Texas in her later years but was never truly a Texan! The deer ate her petunias, the sun was too warm, but she loved being near family and HEB.
Mary Anne was a born storyteller. She delighted in telling family tales, reliving the highlights of blackberry picking, victory gardens, the chicken coop in the yard, life in Pittsburgh in the 1950s, trips to the beach, historic sites, European vacations, and the antics/adventures of her kids and grandkids.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on June 1, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church followed by interment at Verona Cemetery in Oakmont. Private family lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Macular Degeneration Association (macularhope.org). We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.
