Mary Ellen (Salsgiver) Carey

Mary Ellen (Salsgiver) Carey, 94 of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday September 12, 2026. Mary Ellen was born on June 4, 1932 to Adrian and Grace Salsgiver.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Edward F. Carey, her parents, and also five brothers.

Mary Ellen is survived by her six children, Edward (Deborah), Diane, Deborah (Scott), Jack, David, Michael, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mary Ellen's greatest joy and purpose in life was raising her children and she devoted every day to their happiness and well being. She always ended every phone call with a "love you more."

Friends and family will be received on Monday September 14, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont PA 15139.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Holy Family Parish. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
