Mary Lou Ruffner, 80 of Gaithersburg, MD passed away Friday afternoon, October 18, 2024, at her daughter's home in Gaithersburg, MD.

She was born August 17, 1944, in McKeesport a daughter of the late John R. and Mary B. (Ballas) Pastor.

She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

Mary Lou was a sweet soul who, after her husband David's passing 30 years ago, devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.  She made friends everywhere she went and will be greatly missed.

Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Michelle M. Ruffner (Van Ernest) of Gaithersburg, MD; her son David L. Ruffner (Christian) Santa Rosa Beach, FL.; her three grandchildren, Kendall Pasquarelli, Morgan Ruffner and Samantha Ruffner; her sister, Adele Clemmer (Charles) of Allentown, PA; her brother, Ralph Pastor (Karen) of Placerville, CA; and her sister-in-law, Debbie Pastor of Slidell, LA.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, David Burchinal Ruffner; and her two brothers, James "Jim" Pastor and Jack Pastor.

Friends and relatives will be received at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139 on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church-Christ the King Parish, 342 Dorseyville Road Pittsburgh.

Entombment will follow in Verona Cemetery, Oakmont.
