Susan E. Meade, 84 of Oakmont (formerly Penn Hills) passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents Juanita and Charles Pattinson and her former husband, Gary Meade. Loving mother of Eric Meade, Mindi (Rob) Battiste, Erin Meade, and David (Lorraine) Durley. Grandmother of Joel Battiste, Jesse Meade, Kassidy Battiste, and David Durley Jr. Sister of Jim (Cheryl) Pattinson and Joan (Dick) Schneider. Susan had a love of reading and was known to conquer more than one book per day. She enjoyed music and yardwork, always having the most beautiful yard in the neighborhood. Her reading and constant quest for knowledge gave her a love of quiz shows. Susan always had a soft spot for animals, especially a love of horses and dogs. She spent most of her life in the health field taking care of others as she had such a caring heart and nurturing soul. Of all of her loves, spending time with her children, grandchildren and family was most important to her. Friends and relatives will be received on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 2–4 and 6–8 p.m. at the Burket- Truby funeral home cremation and alternative services Inc. 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. Please wear a mask inside the funeral home. Funeral service Monday, February 14, 2022, 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery.
